“On a desolate outpost somewhere in the future, a chance encounter with an alien force changes everything for a young soldier and his commander.”

Voyager was shot on the weekend of November 20th and 21st in 2010. The entire film takes place in one location — a privately owned train yard in Tucson, AZ. Action takes place inside and around actual operating trains. Later, in post-production, the empty train yard was filled with computer generated alien spacecraft.

The unique visual effects required for the making of Voyager had to be learned and executed by filmmaker Jared Potter in a quick 2 month period in order to make the deadline of May 14th. Software used in the making of the film include: Maya 2011, Blender, Adobe Photoshop/After Effects, Final Cut Pro 7, Color, Matchmover 2010, and Syntheyes.

The film was scored by composer Brian Ralston and recorded on April 15th, 2011.
